Livingston

Because I just do not feel like blogging at the moment (but know that you're all dying for an update) I will keep this short and to the point. I have been trying to enjoy every moment but after my Montericco adventures of four days with almost no sleep, I was attacked by a terrible cough/sore throat/runny nose/head blow up, so I've spent quite a bit of time sleeping, but I feel much better tonight after some "magic" tea at the suggestion of our new Garifuna friend. :)

Now the few important points of the night...

- Central America is beautiful. Always. Not really sure how it does it, but it continuously takes my breath away. (Photos do not do it justice. You'll have to visit to get the full effect.)

- Livingston Guatemala is home to Garifuna people; black skin, unique language, and totally different culture, but still absolutely amazing.

- Our new dear friend Benecio climbed a coconut tree and got some fresh fruit for us. He showed is how to crack them open by smashing them on the tree so we could drink the juice. I can now say I have had coconut milk straight from the tree!

- Word of the day: Tocinoquesoburguesa is a Bacon cheese burger. Now you know. :)

I will update more in the coming days because once again we somehow got lucky enough to happen to arrive right at the beginning of the Garifuna days festival. Perfect way to experience the culture first hand. :)
