Love and Sunshine

Hello from the beautiul land of backpackers and palm trees!

Yesterday, I went on a morning horseback ride around Motezuma, to some more waterfalls. The ride was beautiful; through mountains and fields of big, floppy eared cows and their babies.

The guide was amazing and said I had really good Spanish! I absolutely love knowing another language and being able to communicate completely with the locals in their language. And funny fact - the horses here love pineapples and bananas.

After the ride, Bethy and I took the ATV through windy, dusty, bumpy, narrow roads and little rivers to spend a night at a popular hostel in Santa Teresa, Playa Carmen.

I met soo many amazing people from all over the world. My favorite were the many travelers from Chile. We talked about language and how different the accents in Spanish are, and one sweet guy taught me so much. And, he said when I come to Chile I can stay with them. I love having friends from all over the world, but it is always so hard to leave them!

That night, the backpackers from the hostel got together and headed to the beach where we stood around a fire, talked about life and travels, listened to the breaking of the waves, and watched the brilliantly bright stars.

The beach and ocean in Playa Carmen are some of the most amazing I've seen in my life. After awhile all beaches and beach towns start to seem the same, so when one sticks out, it must be good.

Santa Teresa is a huge surfer town, with tons of backpackers and surfers - but very few tourists. The town is quiet and beautiful, with such a calm, welcoming atmosphere.

The ocean has perfect waves. Words cannot even describe how amazing the ocean there is. The waves break hundreds of meters from shore and roll in slowly and calmly, but they are huge in the distance, making it perfect for surfing and swimming.

By the time the water reaches shore it is just a thin layer and makes it look like a sheet of glass with perfect reflections.

Palm trees line the shore, and the early morning sunrise through the trees is just as amazing as the colorful sunset.

Well, almost...

Sending love and sunshine. <3
