Here we go again! I can't believe that I braved the Wisconsin winter for a whole month already since my trip to Guatemala. So, here I sit in the airport messy hair and tired eyes (pulling an all nighter with friends the night before pulling an all nighter while traveling wasn't exactly my best idea ever...) waiting for a delayed flight and a new adventure to Central America and once again slightly questioning my sanity and wondering why I insist on traveling to far away counties with no plans and a travel buddy for only part of the time...
Okay, just kidding. It will be great. And I am also kind of just kidding about having no plans. We do have plans... For the first two weeks. We plan (said tentatively seeing how often my travel plans change) to fly into San Jose at noon today (...if our first flight ever comes to get is to our connecting flight) and after a few days in the most beautiful place on earth (besides Wisconsin) we will head to Panama to stay with friends we haven't met yet and fall in love with kids and let them know they're loved.
...Yeah. I am serious about making them feel loved. I may have gone a little over board with the books/crayons/coloring books/stickers/baby socks, but I'm pretty sure they will all come to good use!
So then, after two weeks with my sis, I will be on my own. For some reason that fact terrifies me, but, it's also exhilarating. I have to take this moment to remind myself that life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. And in this area, I really would appreciate prayers. :)
I am also going to take this time (the five hour delayed flight time) to say how much I am going to miss Wisconsin (and my family...and friends...and horse...) i make it seem like I only like Central America and never want to come home, but traveling also makes me realize how blessed I am and how long two months away from home really is.
Because really, look at this:
Yeah, I might miss that. But this, (despite me being madly in love with winter) not so much:
Pretty sure that just living in the Midwest is a daring adventure, trying to survive that cold. I guess we picked a good time to leave. We're going from that negative weather to somewhere around 80. I will leave out how excited I am for the sake of those of you who continue to brave the cold.
Farewell until pura vida land - or a mad rant about delayed flights. Whatever comes first. :)
Aw, it's not so bad this morning. I expected it to be cold and windy and here I am sweating in my insulated coveralls and your Carhart coat. Enjoy the heat. It will be back in WI before we know it!
